Sofia Burks

Sofia (she/her) is the Captioning Specialist for the Digital Accessibility Office (DAO). Prior to the DAO team, she has led presentations for educators at multiple schools and at the Colorado Science Conference, focusing on strategies to make STEM education more accessible for learners with various needs. Sofia has also partnered with Apple representatives to demonstrate iPad accessibility features to community members and has helped host community events that highlight inclusion.

Currently, Sofia is double majoring in Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience with the goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. She is passionate about ensuring spaces, both physical and digital, are thoughtfully designed and accessible for all. In her free time, Sofia loves trail running, hiking, photography, and creating the perfect Spotify playlists.
