2024 Digital Accessibility Buff Award Winner

Chancellor DiStefano was nominated for the award for his foundational contributions to the establishment and support of a dedicated digital accessibility team on campus. Starting in 2014, as we worked on achieving compliance with federal and state laws, the Chancellor set the goals above compliance at “doing the right thing” for the end users. This goal defined how we do our work, both our work ethic and work processes. More importantly, the charge to “do the right thing” came with the resources and thoughtful planning from the Chancellor and other members of the university leadership, allowing us to actually put the charge into practice.
