March 2026 Digital Accessibility Buff Award Winner

Leila S. Saleh, PhD was nominated by one of her students because she consistently ensured that her course materials were digitally accessible from the start. The student stated, "it was the most digitally accessible class I have ever taken at CU Boulder. Lecture notes and homework were already provided in visually accessible formats online, which meant little to no remediation was needed for me as a student with a vision disability. Everything posted on Canvas, including notes, assignments, and supporting materials, was structured and accessible. Because visual accessibility was thought of during course design before I was even enrolled in the course, I was able to focus on learning the material rather than navigating barriers. Dr. Saleh’s proactive approach reflects a clear commitment to inclusive education and significantly increases digital accessibility within the engineering department." We also want to recognize that Leila is the first faculty member to win the Digital Accessibility Buff Award!
