Celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2021!
Thursday, May 20th is Global Accessibility Awareness Day!
Global Accessibility Awareness Day is intended to educate people around the world about the importance of accessibility and spur people to make more experiences and content accessible for all individuals.
The goal of the Digital Accessibility Office at CU Boulder is to improve the accessibility of the digital environment and increase opportunities for participation in the digital life of the university for individuals with disabilities. We have a few tips for how to recognize and celebrate the day:
Sign up for our newsletter! We will send one accessibility tip per month, so you can learn about accessibility right from your inbox.
Enroll in our self-paced introductory Canvas course. Digital Accessibility Fundamentals will help you learn how to create accessible content, recognize accessibility barriers in the digital environment, and understand what resources are available on campus.
Schedule a training or consultation. Unsure if something you’ve created is accessible? Email us at digitalaccessibility@colorado.edu to arrange an appointment. We can assess the accessibility of your materials and provide one-on-one or group training on how to create accessible content in Word, PowerPoint, Canvas, and more.
Request software accessibility testing. If you have procured or developed software and would like to know how accessible it is, please contact aul@colorado.edu to arrange for testing.
