Student Organization Allocations Committee

SOAC is a voting body of CUSG that distributes funds to applying Recognized Student Organizations (RSO). SOAC is headed by the SOAC Chair, who also holds a position in the Executive Cabinet, the SOAC Chair along with SOAC Board members allocates funds for RSO expenses for operational, travel, and events. The RSO is required to be open to all CU Boulder students to join in order to be eligible for funding.

Spring 2026 Timeline:
Wednesday, January 12thFirst SOAC Hearing of the Spring Semester
Wednesday, February 25thPriority Submission Deadline:  RSOs can submit event/travel/operation requests for the 2025-2026 Academic Year on BuffConnect for a guaranteed hearing by April 1st. RSOs can submit request after February 25th (so long as RSOs abide by the 30-day deadline for event/travel, but SOAC cannot guarantee there will be hearing times available)
March 16-March 20thSpring Break (SOAC will not be meeting)
Wednesday, April 1stLast SOAC hearing (Last day to ask for reallocations)
Saturday, May 2nd (Commencement Day)Last day for SOAC funds to be spent for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Since Commencement Day is on a Saturday, it is recommended student organizations to have met with CSI Finance at minimum three weeks prior as anything dated on receipts after May 2nd won’t meet the deadline.
Note: Once your approved funds are reflected on your BuffConnect portal you must have a pre-spending meeting with CSI Finance to discuss how you want to spend your approved funds by the May 2nd deadline.
