Budget & Fiscal Planning has published the CU Boulder budget planning parameters which include updated rates for fringe benefits, GAIR and others to assist in your FY22 budget development. In addition, you can use the auxiliary budget information and instructions for spreadsheet templates and details on how to submit your auxiliary fund budget.

The approved fiscal year 2022 GAR rate is 7.26% and GIR rate is 0.63%. Beginning July 1, 2021, the Boulder campus combined GAIR rate will be 7.89%.

Beginning July 1, any additional pay forms requiring a signature for ‘grants/contracts approval’ can now be routed directly to the grant accountant assigned to that award. Find the assigned grant accountant by running a CU-Data report, such as the m-Fin Operating Summary or m-Fin Award. They will be listed under project accountant.

Officers, fiscal principals and principal investigators: Emails with detailed instructions regarding the fiscal certification and assessment process will be sent on July 6. Review the webpage and watch the video to learn more.

Departments will soon have access to additional furniture suppliers and contracts, while still having the option to continue to buy from CCi. Details about the new suppliers and new Marketplace catalogs will be available on the PSC site.

The development and negotiation of the F&A cost rate is a complex process that happens every four to five years. In this training, we reviewed the purpose of the F&A cost rate and provided an overview of how the rate is calculated using base-year expenses.
