Kaye Howe received her BA and Ph.D in General and Comparative Literature from Washington University. She was appointed to the University of Colorado Boulder faculty in 1968 in Humanities and Comparative Literature. She was active in faculty governance and was appointed Vice Chancellor for Academic Services in 1991. She was president of what is now Colorado Western University and Executive Director of the National Science Digital Library, a major grant to develop the use of the relatively new internet in learning from K-12 through graduate studies. She has been active in community activities from the I Have A Dream Foundation to Boulder Community Hospital.
