How to apply:
When you apply to a partner academic department through the CU Boulder Graduate School, you will be given the option to complete a supplemental application for IQ Biology.
IQ Biology seeks to attract intellectually curious students eager to explore multiple scientific disciplines and tackle interdisciplinary challenges. In the application process, we seek to understand your:
- Academic preparedness and breadth
- Research experience
- Professional interest (interdisciplinary interest, motivation, and perseverance)
- Lessons and skills learned through academic and non-academic pursuits
IQ Biology Admissions requirements:
The IQ Biology Admissions committee will review your:
- CU degree-granting program application materials
- IQ short answers about topics such as research, goals, experience, and faculty of interest
- IQ Statement of Interest (different from your Personal Statement) about how an interdisciplinary and quantitative approach to science will impact you and your research goals
Applications are open to incoming graduate students only. IQ Biology is a non-degree granting certificate program. Although we conduct a separate review, applicants must receive admission to one of our partner degree-granting programs in order to be admitted to IQ Biology.
Fall Application Deadline
The IQ Biology deadline is 10 PM (MST) on November 15. At that time, your program application, including the IQ Biology supplemental questionnaire, must be submitted.
If your program application deadline falls after November 15, you must still complete and submit the program application by November 15 to be considered for IQ Biology.
