Daniel Fischer completed his Ph.D. in history from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in summer 2019 by defending a dissertation titled, “The War on Winter: How Americans Put Down Roots on the Northern Plains, 1854-1949.” He also holds an M.A. in history from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His primary interests are in Western and environmental history.
