Our aim is to help our students become discerning citizens and leaders in any of the fields that they may explore in their futures. We also work to provide community – a hub where students on a large campus can feel at home. To this end we sponsor a wide range of opportunities, inviting students to venture beyond classrooms and textbooks and to interact with leading scholars, writers, public servants, and faculty members.
Simply transplanting myself from New England to the Rockies was only geographical. The Center soon became my compass, helping me navigate the complexities and dynamics of people and places in the West. I was situated here in Colorado, but lacked a local intimacy I was looking for. The Center gave me answers when I needed them and pointed me in the right direction when it was better for me to find that answer on my own.
