Sage Medical Institute, Inc. is a privately-held, venture-backed medical information services company headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.
Prior to founding Sage, Dr. Charles Scoggin served as co-founder and chairman of Rodeer Systems, Inc., a medical information services company which, over the course of three years from founding, took $48 million in annual revenues. Dr. Scoggin also has been chairman, Chief Executive Officer, president, and founder of Somatogen, a publically-traded biopharmaceutical company. Dr. Scoggin was Chief Executive Officer and president of Somatogen Instruments which was sold to Beckman Instruments in 1989. Dr. Scoggin is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. During his academic career, he received numerous awards and recognitions. He was Teaching and Research Scholar of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Research Scholar of the American Lung Association, and Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has held the positions of Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Clinical Director of the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Director of the House Staff Training Program of the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Head of the Adult Human Genetics Section of the University of Colorado and Senior Scientist and Vice-President of the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute.
Dr. Scoggin received his medical degree from the University of Colorado and training in internal medicine at Duke University.
He predictably falls off, or under, a horse once every two years.
