Alexander Langer

Alex recently received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds an M.A. from Villanova University and received his B.A. from the University of Arizona. His Dissertation examines the experiences of everyday people in the Cold War through the lenses of tourism, sport, and experiences of political violence. He teaches at CU Boulder and Front Range Community College. His research interests include: U.S. diplomatic history, Cold War, modern American political economy, U.S. cultural diplomacy, Italy, European integration, baseball, globalization, international political violence, tourism, American society and popular media. 

Dissertation title: “All Flights Lead to Rome: The Diplomacy of American Tourism in Italy, 1945-1980”
