Adam Cramer

After practicing environmental law in Washington, D.C. for a number of years, Adam Cramer started to use his legal skills to help kayakers and climbers with some of their conservation and access matters. Adam now leads Outdoor Alliance, a coalition of national, human powered outdoor recreation and conservation organizations including Access Fund, American Canoe Association, American Hiking Society, American Whitewater, International Mountain Bicycling Association and Winter Wildlands Alliance. Through his work with OA, Adam helps channel the sensibilities, perspectives and values of climbers, paddlers, hikers, mountain bikers and backcountry skiers to inform the creation and implementation of public lands and waters policy.

Adam grew up in New York and Washington State, earned his undergraduate degree at Penn State, his law degree at Boston University and is licensed to practice in both Maryland and the
District of Columbia. Adam’s affection for the outdoors was forged from years spent climbing, riding and paddling through it with some of the best friends a person could find. Adam now lives in Maryland with his wife and two little kids (about 15 minutes from the Great Falls section of the Potomac River).
