Questions that Teach: Engaging Students Through Q&A

This workshop is designed to help international graduate students navigate the US academic culture of classroom participation, specifically through asking and answering questions. Tailored for graduate students serving or preparing to serve as Teaching Assistants (TAs), the session will cover strategies for fielding student questions, providing appropriate responses, and asking insightful questions and follow-up questions to gauge student comprehension. Through hands-on activities in this workshop, participants will gain practical skills to facilitate effective classroom discussions, the goal of which is to enhance student engagement and understanding in the American university classroom.
