Lecturer of ASL

Pauline Ballentine is an ASL Coordinator/ Senior Lecturer in the ASL & Interpreting Studies Department at the University of Northern Colorado and is currently part time freelancing interpreting in Colorado. She used to be a Chair of the Carlstrom ASL-Interpreting Department at North Central University. Formerly, Mrs. Ballentine was an outreach specialist with the Gallaudet University Regional Center at Northern Essex Community College. Pauline holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University; she is also a certified Deaf Interpreter. Formerly, she used to serve as an interviewer and rater for the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI: ASL) for the Division of Special Education in Minnesota. Also, Pauline was an instructor for national mission workshops and training programs, specifically: Reading to Deaf Children: Learning from Deaf Adults and Leading from Behind: Language Experience in Action. Also, she coordinated The Shared Reading Project in Massachusetts. Pauline is active with committees and organizations at local and regional levels.
