Due to the Chancellor's statement about COVID-19 and campus gatherings, this event is currently postponed. Should this change, we will update this message.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility as we do our part to simultaneously protect the health of our communities and continue providing excellent services, resources and support to the campus. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions.

Originated from the medieval times, Sant Jordi Day is a Catalan holiday also known as books and roses exchange day. On April 23 we are giving away roses to those visiting The HIVE @ALTEC, until supplies last. Swing by The HIVE @ALTEC to exchange or simply grab a book of your interest between April 22-24. Most of the books will be learning resources covering a wide range of languages and more!

Donations of all types of books in all languages are encouraged any time before April 21. Please drop your donations off at the front desk of The HIVE @ALTEC (Hellems 159).

Wednesday, April 22–Friday, April 24

Video from Diplocat, Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia. "Celebrate 23 April, UNESCO World Book & Copyright Day and Sant Jordi, with #BooksAndRoses!!. In Barcelona and all over Catalonia people exchange books and roses as a token of appreciation. Nowadays, it is the day when more than 1.5 million books and more than 6 million roses are sold in Catalonia. In recent years all this has gone global: 150 events organized by volunteers in 50 countries. We would love to see the whole world sharing #BooksAndRoses on or around this date. Check booksandroses.cat to find out events near you! Directed by Pau Garcia Laita. Additional cinematography by Cristina Tomàs Rovira."
