Studio
The Park Hill Green Infrastructure Praxis supports the city of Denver in developing integrated concepts for solar access, shade and streetscape. Students use stormwater details as framework to explore problems of shade and solar access, and evaluate shade, and solar stormwater strategies. This studio aims to assess existing conditions and issues at the site, develop neighborhood alternatives and design implementation strategies. Issues that were delved into in previous semesters include: impervious surfaces, flooding, stormwater, gray infrastructure, pollution, air quality, the urban heat island effect, tree canopy, bike and transit connectivity, sideway conditions, green disparity and gentrification.
