Jean Thompson

Jeannie Thompson is a past Chair of the Board of the CU Foundation and serves on several UCB Advisory Boards. Most recently, she was a senior consultant in outplacement with Lee Hecht Harrison in Denver and Chicago; she is a certified mediator. Jeannie has almost 40 years of experience in health care, personal and career counseling, MBA admissions, workforce education and executive development and mentoring. She received an Alumni Recognition Award (2007) and was the recipient of the University Women’s Club Margaret Willard Award for community service (2010). She and her husband, Jack, received the University Medal from the Board of Regents in 2020.  Jeannie served on the Presidential Search Committee that brought President Bruce Benson to the University of Colorado. She has held management and consulting positions with a number of Chicago organizations, including the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and Menttium Corporation. Jeannie earned a B.A. in Zoology from the University of Colorado-Boulder, plus her M.A. in Counseling Psychology and an MBA from Northwestern (The Kellogg School).
