Serena Buxton

BS, Technology, Arts & Media; BS, computer science;

Serena Buxton
study abroad, Spring 2018 (University of Wollongong, Australia)

As a double engineering major, Serena’s academic load is surely considerable, but that doesn’t seem to limit the places where she chooses to invest her time and the amount she gives back. She’s a lead student tutor in the BOLD Center, where she provides academic support to students who are struggling. She also advocates for the representation of women in computing, as well as serves as an informal ambassador for the TAM program itself. In addition to her studies, Serena is a research lab assistant with Shaun Kane, associate professor of computer science. Her academic performance is outstanding, and Serena is one of the well-rounded students who gives back as much as they have received at CU Boulder.
