Sara Gallagher
We tend to draw a line between what is human and what is wild. Sara Gallagher is interested in forms that reveal this boundary as dynamic and vital. Using a combination of mold making and hand building, she makes ceramic sculptures and installations about places and organisms that are neither entirely human nor entirely wild.
Sara holds BA degrees in Studio Art and Philosophy from Lewis & Clark College (2020). After graduation she continued her education through Anderson Ranch Art Center’s advanced mentorship program and as an assistant at Penland School of Craft. Sara has been awarded residencies at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Adamah Art Studio, and Whiskey Jack Pottery. She is currently pursuing an MFA at University of Colorado, Boulder.
