A graduate of the MFA program Ryan Everson continues to evolve his arts practice and currently co-owns Matchless in Portland.

"After graduating from CU Boulder I picked up a job working for a Portland and NY based artist Pete Beeman doing public art fabrication. I was brought on for a year to help build and install two large kinetic pieces in Taipei. The work consisted of a lot of heavy metal fabrication and I was able to re-establish roots in Portland through meeting and working with the fabrication community. Once those projects ended and installed in Taipei I leveraged my contacts into getting in the door at a very large design agency working on the production side of their projects. At that time experiential marketing was booming and agencies were looking for new and inventive ways to launch their products. I was able to help build out their production offering by bringing on a few artist friends and we made all sorts of interesting commercial displays both domestically and internationally. A few years ago I began my own production studio and have broadened my focus to include a larger variety of projects outside of retail and events. We currently work with brands and agencies but also with fine artists, furniture designers and really anyone trying to turn an idea into something three dimensional. As the company matures I have steered it in a direction that is more inline with why I studied art at CU. I enjoy helping other artists and have loved building a crew of creatives to bring projects to fruition." — Ryan Everson

Libby Barbee is program manager at the Colorado Creative Industries a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and a practicing artist

Barbee grew up on the southeastern plains of Colorado and currently lives in Denver where she straddles multiple roles as an artist, curator, and arts administrator. As an artist, Libby creates work focused on the relationship between culture and nature, specifically examining American frontier myth and the mediating role it plays in the construction of both American identity and the American landscape. Libby believes that art has the power to illuminate ideas, to move people to action, and to unite communities. As an arts administrator, her work has focused primarily on supporting cross-sector work through the arts and socially engaged artists. As a Program Manager with Colorado Creative Industries, she works to support artists and communities across the state in their efforts to create thriving and resilient economies, relationships, and systems of support.

Aubrey Hobart received her MA in Art History at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2010

Hobart is an art historian who works as the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Roswell Museum and Art Center in Roswell, New Mexico. With more than twenty years of experience in all aspects of museum work, she believes in the power of museums to support and transform their communities. Her primary areas of expertise are in Mesoamerican and Colonial Latin American art, as well as trends in museum exhibitions, but two years of working in Roswell have provided a crash course in 20th century New Mexican art and history, as well. Dr. Hobart graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a PhD in Visual Studies. She also holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from New College of Florida.
