Arts Practicum Speaker Series - Spring 2021
This series of talks explores strategies to forge a sustainable, productive, fulfilling career in the arts. Speakers will discuss the trajectory and evolution of their art practices. Students and researchers from all majors and fields are welcome.

Rebecca Vaughan
Rebecca Vaughan received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University (2001) and BFA, cum laude, in Sculpture at the University of Colorado Boulder (1994). She was recently included in the Biennial of the Americas, First Draft, and the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, Thief Amongst Thieves. She has also shown her work in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, Canada, and China. Rebecca served as the Chair of Fine Arts and Head of Sculpture at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, the Artistic Director of PlatteForum, and a Resource Artist at Redline Contemporary Art Center. She currently resides in Kansas City, MO where she is an instructor at the Kansas City Art Institute and the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Sam Harvey
Sam Harvey is a ceramic artist in Aspen, Colorado. Harvey received his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2001) and BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute (1984). His work is included in many public and private collections including the American Museum of Ceramic Art, CA and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY. He is the owner and director of Harvey Preston Gallery in Aspen. He recently received the prestigious 2019 USA Fellowship Award, recognizing the most compelling artists working and living in the United States.
Tya Alisa Anthony
Tya Alisa Anthony is an Interdisciplinary artist and curator who explores the intersections of ecology, ritual, and storytelling through sculpture, photography, collage and reliquary. Anthony received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, (summa cum laude and valedictorian) from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (2015). She is a 2018-2020 RedLine Residency Artist Alumni and serves on the Advisory Board for Leon Gallery and on the board of Tilt West. Anthony was recently included in an exhibition at the Denver Art Museum and shows her work nationally. Presently, Anthony lives in Denver and is a member of TANK Studios.
