Jordan (he/him) creates artwork that documents the expression of the soul—the essence of being human. His practice explores the depths of the human condition, charting the psyche’s evolution through creative transformation. Working across a spectrum of photographic mediums—including wet plate collodion, analog film, and digital imaging—Jordan weaves together motifs of mortality, Thanatos and Eros, time, trauma, and memory. The resulting images are dreamlike—evoking a surreal inner world shaped by myth, symbol, and psychic unrest.
Through the use of historical photographic chemical processes, Jordan assumes the role of a creative alchemist, manipulating light and chemistry to materialize visions from the unconscious. Sculptural elements serve as symbolic constructions within his images, offering form to the psychological and the mythic. Informed by psychology, philosophy, mythology, and surrealist literature, his work becomes a confrontation with the shadow and a ritualized passage toward individuation.
