Isis Exum

Isis Exum is currently pursuing her MA in Art History at CU Boulder. Originally from San Diego, California, Isis graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History. With her studies, she is determined to contribute to the research of the history of women and how gender relates to race, sexuality, and other social constructs from the Early Modern era. She ultimately aims to help in decolonizing our understanding of Black representation in art history and challenge reductive portrayals of Black people as the “Other”.
