- (She, her, hers)
- PAINTING & DRAWING
Carrie Berglund is a multidisciplinary artist living in Denver, Colorado. Her work examines themes of identity, the body, issues facing women and girls, nature and artificiality, emphemerality, and that which is regarded as unsettling or repellent. In addition to drawing and painting, she is interested in the expressive qualities of materials such as wax, fibers, textiles, and paper, and processes involving modeling, mold making and casting, needlework, and chance.
She has worked as a costume designer/creator, one-of-a-kind doll maker, and illustrator, and earned her BFA with emphases in drawing and metalsmithing in 2022 at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She completed the post-baccalaureate program in painting and drawing at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2024, where she is currently pursuing her MFA.
When not working, her interests include researching, exploring nature, wildlife-friendly gardening, her extensive collection of houseplants, nighttime, small things, and spending time with her family, parrots, and cat.
