Andrea Caretto (she/her/hers) is a Denver-based artist who primarily works with encaustics. Her oeuvre explores materials that are both traditional and experimental. Recent works embrace the history of encaustics and push the medium into unexpected areas by incorporating a variety of materials, from plaster, pastels, ceramics, watercolor and found objects. These materials and their manipulation are abstract representations, reminiscent of people and events in the artist's life and an attempt at preserving their memory. Andrea is currently pursuing her MFA from CU Boulder.
