Boipool
They were sent to dominate for purposes they don’t fully understand, and their willingness for violence is how they maintain control. Boipool is a team of mercenaries sent by an unchecked power to capture the command towers in the distance. To reach the towers, they patrol the desert as unwelcome guests, tracing a sprawling labyrinth of pipelines that stretch across the industrial wastes like metal arteries. The pipelines, marked by the distant glow of flames, offer the path of least resistance, luring the mercenaries ever deeper into the wastes like moths to a flame. Yet, no matter how diligently they follow the pipes or how many towers they seize, inevitably, they’re ordered to capture more.“Just a few more towers until the desert is secure,” the voice over the radio unfailingly tells them. Years turn to decades as the mission presses onward. The final objective lingers just beyond reach, always on the next horizon, always a few more that need taking. Over time, their mission is sustained not by motive but by routine. Look for the flames, follow the pipes, capture the towers—the same rituals repeated.
