Teaching Assistantships are usually awarded to MA students. Applicants may compete for all appropriate Graduate School fellowships. The Chinese/Japanese program itself awards each year a number of fellowships and teaching assistantships. Teaching normally involves instruction in the elementary or intermediate Mandarin or Japanese language courses.
