Veteran and Military Affairs currently offers six scholarships to current students at CU Boulder. Information regarding the scholarships can be seen below. Please feel free to inquire with our office if you have any questions.

VMA Veteran Scholarship

Veteran and Military Affairs awards 40 $3000 scholarships annually. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the military, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be accepted as a full-time degree seeking student at CU, must have completed at least one full time semester at CU Boulder.

The application for 2020-2021 was due July 1, 2020 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

OJ Harvey Veteran Scholarship

The OJ and Mary Christine Harvey Veteran Scholarship awards five students $5000 annually. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the military, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU and must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. The application for 2020-2021 was due July 1, 2020 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

Thuet Veteran Scholarship

Veteran and Military Affairs is excited to announce the Thuet Veteran Scholarship. This $5000 will be awarded to five students annually. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the military, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU and must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. Preference will be given to Leeds School of Business students. A full list of requirements is available on the application form.

The application for 2020-2021 was due July 1, 2020 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

Exhausted Benefits Scholarship

Veteran and Military Affairs awards $2000 scholarships annually to veteran students that do not have eligibility under any VA benefit program. To be eligible, students must have completed more than 75% of their degree, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, and must meet with VMA staff. 

The application for 2020-2021 is available here. Priority application deadline is July 1, 2020. Students that apply after this date will still be considered for awards. 

Thuet Dependent Scholarship

The Thuet Dependent Scholarship awards five veteran dependents $2000 scholarships annually. To be eligible, dependent students must using Chapter 35 (DEA) benefits, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at CU and must have completed at least one full time semester hour at CU Boulder. The application for 2020-2021 was due July 1, 2020 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

McMahon USMC Scholarship

The Conor Padraic McMahon USMC Scholarship is a $3000 renewable award. To be eligible, students must be on active duty or honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, must have cumulative GPA of 3.0, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU, must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years if the awarded student maintains a 3.0 or greater GPA. The current recipient is a returning student so there will be no new awards for 2020-2021.
