MedShape Inc. (now Enovis)
Innovative, commercial-stage medical devices for fracture fixation, joint fusion and soft tissue injury repair.
The University of Colorado Connection

MedShape Inc. was a medical device company that developed innovative surgical implants utilizing patented adaptive shape-memory alloys, specifically superelastic nickel-titanium (NiTiNOL). The company was built on a portfolio of proprietary surgical solutions that leveraged advanced materials science to improve joint fusion and sports medicine products and was co-founded by Kenneth Gall (fmr. CU Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science). The University of Colorado made a pre-seed investment in the company in 2009.
MedShape was acquired by DJO (now Enovis) in 2021, and its technologies, such as the DynaNail TTC Fusion System, continue to be commercialized under the new ownership.
