We are excited to offer up to $5,000 in funds to innovators participating in the Commercialization Academy. You could receive up to $5,000 in benefits, including:

Up to $2,000 in legal costs for startup company formation

Up to $2,000 toward accelerator fees*

$1,000 royalty bonus**

*You may inquire with Venture Partners about programs similar to accelerators that may be eligible.
**Venture Partners will direct the first $1,000 of its share in licensing revenue to the inventors.

To Qualify

  • Attend at least 10 Commercialization Academy Lunch and Learn sessions***.
  • Complete a Commercialization Academy pitch training.
  • Complete an option (free) or license agreement with Venture Partners for your invention.

***Two Lunch and Learn sessions can be substituted for one customer discovery program (Starting Blocks, Zap!, or Research-to-Market (R2M). Can be exercised once. Members of the same startup can receive credit for any university attendee from their group, but only one credit per group per Lunch and Learn.

Mechanics

  • Participants must meet all three criteria above before receiving funding.
  • Expenses can be incurred before or after the participation requirements are met.
  • Venture Partners will pay invoices directly from a firm, or will reimburse the startup after they are added to CU Boulder’s vendor system and provide an invoice.
