University of Colorado at Boulder scientists will hold a free public program about the sun and space weather at Fiske Planetarium in celebration of Sun-Earth Day, to be held the evening of the spring equinox on Monday, March 21.

The program, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature several CU-Boulder solar scientists and is co-hosted by Fiske Planetarium and CU's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. Sun-Earth Day is being celebrated in classrooms, museums and planetariums across the nation this year to explore the mysteries of the sun and how it affects Earth and other planets.

Besides providing an introduction to the sun and space weather by scientists, the CU-Boulder event will feature the Planetarium's newest feature show titled "Space Storm." The show was produced at Fiske in association with LASP and NASA.

Seating is limited at the free event, and parking is available in lot 308. Fiske is located on Regent Drive, next to the Coors Events/Conference Center on the CU-Boulder campus.

Fiske hosts more than 25,000 visitors annually and is the largest planetarium between Chicago and Los Angeles.
