Andrea is a second-year graduate student in MCDB in Ed Chuong’s lab. Her work focuses on transposable elements and innate immunity variability across species. She is an international student from Ecuador with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology from UC Berkeley and an MSc in Human Molecular Genetics from Imperial College London. When not enthralled by the fascinating world of transposons, Andrea likes to explore Colorado, try new cocktail recipes, and plan future vacations to beaches where she can scuba dive.
