Fall Welcome is CU Boulder’s time to welcome new and returning students to campus for the new academic year. Each year, staff, faculty and students volunteer to help make Fall Welcome a success.

Volunteers represent the CU Boulder community and help create a smooth and exciting experience for our campus. Learn more about volunteer opportunities.

2023 Fall Welcome volunteer roles

Fall Welcome starts with move-in on Aug. 20 and continues through Sept. 1. Whether you provide support for move-in, orientation events or Fall Welcome signature events, there are many different volunteer roles and ways to help.

Volunteers can sign up for one or more roles to support this year’s events. Move-in volunteers include welcome bag distribution, hall greeter, elevator operator, golf cart shuttle driver (CU faculty and staff only), luggage cart distribution and traffic and parking support.

Signature event volunteers assist with orientation check-ins, Be Involved Fair, Buff Stops, CU Kickoff, neighborhood block parties, Spirit Night, the Welcomefest concert and more.

Signature events for Fall Welcome

The Fall Welcome signature events invite students to explore campus, meet new people and have fun. Volunteers can participate in different ways to help these events run smoothly and create a welcoming environment.

Roles for the events include checking people in, line management, providing directions, arranging supplies and more, depending on the event.
