Volunteering can be a life-changing opportunity to learn new skills while building community. Here are some great ways to get more involved at CU Boulder:

  • You don’t have to be a member of Staff Council to have an impact. Volunteer at the next blood drive, the upcoming Diversity Summit or an awards ceremony. You’ll learn legislative functioning, policy development, advocacy and diversity work. Or attend one of our meetings and have a voice! Check out our Committees page to learn more about the work each does, and reach out if you are interested in attending a meeting or serving on a committee.
  • The Volunteer Resource Center isn’t just for students. Give back to the community by volunteering on an organic farm, leading tours in the CU Museum of Natural History, caring for orphaned animals, working on trails… there are so many ways to participate! The Better Boulder Day of Service is coming up on April 19th. Join colleagues or make new friends while giving back to the local community.
  • The Colorado Shakespeare Festival welcomes volunteers to help greet, seat and assist patrons. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and connect with other Shakespeare enthusiasts.

Consider encouraging your colleagues or staff to explore opportunities to give back or pursue professional development experiences. Learning new skills and meeting new people is invigorating and you never know where it could lead.
