Clinical Observation Hours
Observations at the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic (SLHC) at CU Boulder
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) requires 25 hours of guided observation by undergraduates seeking post-baccalaureate opportunities in speech-language pathology. Guided observations allow students to observe professionals working with clients and interact with ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists.
The CU Boulder Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic (SLHC) and Child Learning Center (CLC) allow guided observations by University of Colorado-affiliated students in compliance with SLHC/CLC observation policies.
Eligible students interested in observations must review and sign the Observation Agreement Form. Approved students will be emailed information on observations. After guided observations, students need to submit a completed Observation Clock Hours Log to the supervisor for signature using Docusign. Students must retain their own logs – SLHC does not keep copies.
