Ekta Sood

Ekta Sood is an interdisciplinary AI researcher spanning cognitive science, computational linguistics, computer vision, and human–computer interaction. Her work combines vision–language modeling with representation learning from behavioral signals—verbal and nonverbal (e.g., gaze and gesture)—to build efficient, cognitively inspired systems with behavior-grounded interpretability. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Sidney D’Mello at the University of Colorado Boulder’s iSAT institute, developing multimodal models for cognitive inference in AI-driven education.
