Abhijnan Nath is a graduating PhD candidate in Computer Science at Colorado State University, advised by Dr. Nikhil Krishnaswamy at the SIGNAL Lab. He defended his dissertation in February 2026. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from Colorado State University and an Integrated Master's in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. As part of the iSAT project, his work focuses on developing AI systems that collaborate effectively with humans through friction-aware alignment and partner-aware learning. His broader research spans reinforcement learning with large language models, AI alignment, and social intelligence in multi-agent settings. His past work includes coreference resolution, dialogue modeling and language modeling for low-resource languages. He has previously held research positions at Amazon Science, Cresta Intelligence, and Optum AI.
