CU Boulder on Coursera Enroll & Pay uses several different icons to help you understand what's going on with a particular class.

  • Blue shopping cart: The class is in your cart (you haven't registered for it yet).
  • Green checkmark: You've taken the class before.
  • Yellow warning sign: There's a restriction that will prevent you from registering for this class.

  1. Log in to CU Boulder on Coursera Enroll & Pay.
  2. Click the cart icon on the upper right.
  3. Add class(es) to cart using the steps above.
  4. In the cart, click "Continue to Payment"

  6. Continue through the payment process on Nelnet or Flywire in a separate pop-up window.
  7. Once the payment is processed, you should see a message, “This class has been added to your schedule.”
  8. Click on the cart icon or “View Cart” button to see your confirmed classes with a black check mark and a message that states If enrollment is not successful, you'll see an error message; read the description for details.

Note: Your tuition must be fully paid and processed by the add deadline in order to successfully add the class. Pending payments beyond the add deadline will result in your enrollment request being cancelled.

Tuition is due at the time of enrollment. You will enroll and then pay the tuition at checkout. You will receive an email confirmation message within an hour of making your payment.

If you are paying internationally using Flywire, making a payment is a multistep process. You will be enrolled in the course once you have completed all payment steps. Please see Pay with Flywire.

Any additional payment questions can be directed to sf-specialprograms@colorado.edu or visit Coursera Student Accounts, Payments and Refunds.

How to Drop or Withdraw from a Class

If you enrolled in a CU Boulder on Coursera class but are no longer interested in continuing, you may be eligible to drop or withdraw from the class. Learn more about drop/withdraw eligibility below. Then complete the drop/withdraw from your class in CU Boulder on Coursera Enroll & Pay.

You're not eligible to drop or withdraw from a CU Boulder on Coursera class if any of the following is true:

  • Your enrollment hasn't been processed yet.
  • You've received a final grade in the class.
  • You've accessed the final exam or final assessment.

All CU Boulder on Coursera programs follow the same drop and withdrawal policies, detailed below.

You may drop a class if you are within 14 days from the class start date or your enrollment date (whichever is later). You are only eligible to drop a class if you are within the 14-day window and have not accessed restricted content (proctored exam) or received a grade.

If you are eligible to drop a class, your transcript will show no record of the class and we'll submit a refund to your payment method on file within 10 business days. For more information on refunds, please see the Degrees on Coursera Refund Policy.

You may withdraw from a class if you are outside of the 14-day window, and haven't accessed restricted content or received a grade.

When you withdraw from a class, your withdrawn class is not eligible for a refund and your transcript will show that you withdrew from the class with a W notation.

To drop one or more of your enrolled classes, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to CU Boulder on Coursera Enroll & Pay.
  2. Click the cart icon on the upper right.
  3. In the cart, click the class you want to drop.
  4. In the course details panel, click "Drop."
  5. A pop-up will confirm that you're sure you wish to drop the class. Click "OK."
  6. Your “Registration Results” will say, “This class has been removed from your schedule” if successfully dropped.
  7. If you see an error message when dropping; read the description for details.

Administrative withdrawals can occur for two reasons:

  • Not completing onboarding or linking your Coursera and CU Boulder accounts
  • Failure to access restricted content (e.g. honor code quiz / final assessment)

W notations have no bearing on the student’s GPA and credit totals.

Degree and Certificate Conferral

Master’s degrees and certificates are automatically conferred once at the end of each session as long as you have:

  • Successfully met all program requirements
  • Officially declared a degree seeking program(s) and/or
  • Officially declared a certificate(s)

If you're unsure whether you have officially declared a degree-seeking program or certificate, check your academics tab in the Buff Portal or email reg-specialprograms@colorado.edu.

Students in the CU Boulder on Coursera Program do not need to apply to graduate. Please see the CU Boulder on Coursera Calendar for program conferral dates.

Students in CU Boulder on Coursera programs are eligible to join the rest of campus in Commencement activities once they complete their program requirements. Information about program-specific celebrations is provided by the programs.
