COF Error: Resolve Your Name Mismatch (Targeted Message)
We sent this email on the following dates to students who needed to correct a name error in order to receive COF funds for Fall 2025.
- 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026
Dear [first],
Your College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend can't be applied to your bill because the name you provided to CU Boulder doesn't exactly match the name in your COF application.
COF was created by the Colorado Legislature to pay a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible undergrads. There's no limit to the number of students who receive it, and you never have to pay it back.
To Correct Your Record
To resolve this error, follow our step-by-step instructions to update your record by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2026.
Once you receive an email confirming your record was updated, follow our online instructions to authorize COF by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2026.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Official communications from our office are also available on our website. To find a specific announcement, go to the CU Boulder Office of the Registrar site and click "Students," then "Announcements."
