Overview

As of today, the admin navigation in CU-SIS Campus Solutions has changed from a tree-based navigation to a tile-based navigation system to provide a mobile-friendly interface with improved usability, accessibility, personalization options and more.

This navigation style should be familiar to you, as it's what we see and use on MyCUInfo's CU Resources tab.

Highlights

Favorites carried forward

If you had favorites in the classic admin view, they're still there. You can also add all of your favorites as a stand-alone tile.

Customizable homepage

Everyone will initially land on the student records homepage, but you can create your own homepage and add tiles from any area.

Search still works

No page names have changed. If you know the name of the page you're looking for, just search for it.

No changes in access

You can still access all the pages you could before. If you don't have access to a page, it won't appear in your tiles.

Protip: Open a new window
To open a new window in Campus Solutions, click the actions menu and select "New Window."

On the "Student Records" dashboard, you'll see a "Resources for Schools/Colleges" tile. Click that tile to view the homepages listed below.

A few items of note:

  • Pages can appear in multiple tiles. To see how classic navigation aligns with the new fluid navigation, refer to the crosswalks below.
  • You may see pages listed in the crosswalks or shown in the training materials that you don't have access to. If that's the case, you will not see those pages in the tile.

Known issues

  • Timeout issue: Timeout is occurring on a tab-by-tab basis rather than a full-session (browser) basis. Developers are currently working to resolve this.
  • Loss of "Recent Search" button: In classic, a small button appeared after the bread crumbs that allowed users to select from a pop-up of recent searches. This functionality does not exist in the new navigation structure.
  • Loss of customized pagelet functionality: In classic, users had the ability to customize and add a pagelet to their classic homepage with "my reports." This functionality does not exist in the new navigation structure. If you used this functionality in classic, the workaround is to access those pages through the navigator, favorites or tiles.
