Dear [first],

Due to a recent course equivalency change by the Department of Biochemistry, you may be eligible to request grade replacement for BCHM 2700/CHEM 4700.

About Grade Replacement

Grade replacement allows you to replace the low grade you earned in your most recent prior attempt of a course (or its equivalent) with the grade you earn in a current or future attempt.

The grade you earned in your most recent prior attempt will still appear on your transcript, but it will be replaced in your cumulative GPA and credit totals by the grade you earn in this attempt, potentially improving your cumulative GPA.

Your Next Steps

You may take one of two actions:

  1. Request grade replacement by emailing us no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. By doing so, the grade you earn in BCHM 2700 this semester will replace the one from CHEM 4700 in your cumulative GPA and credit totals.
  2. Take no action. By not requesting grade replacement, the grade and credits you earned in CHEM 4700 will remain in your cumulative GPA and credit totals.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
