Bicycle Lock Swap Program

CU Bike Program News
One of the best ways to prevent your bike from being stolen is the use of a quality u-lock. If you are currently using a cable lock, your bike is not secure! Stop by either of the CU Boulder bike stations to swap your cable lock for a u-lock, free of charge. And read the safety article further below to learn more useful tips.

Trivia

Mountain lion looking into the distance.

July 2021

Last month’s trivia answer: If you encounter a mountain lion while biking/hiking, Colorado Parks and Wildlife provides the following recommendations:

  • Do not turn your back to the lion as this can trigger their hunting instincts.
  • Stay calm and move slowly, but make sure to face the lion and stand upright.
  • Do not approach the lion. Most mountain lions will try to avoid a confrontation.
  • Stop or back away slowly (do not turn your back to the lion), if possible.
  • Appear as large as possible. If you are traveling with children, make sure to bring them close.
  • If the lion attacks, fight back. This is not the ideal situation, of course, but if worse comes to worst, use all available resources to fend off the lion.
  • Travel in groups and make noise to prevent encounters w/ mountain lions.
  • Visit CPW for a more in-depth explanation.

July Trivia: How many cycling events will be hosted at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo?
