Welcome back readers! CU Bike News is back on its regular release schedule, expect monthly releases from here on out. 

In this edition of the newsletter, we highlight how the Bike Program helped those affected by the Marshall Fire, Winter Bike to Work Day, transportation resources, one million BCycle trips, and a few other topics. Enjoy the read!

Feb 11th, 2022! Join cyclists around the world braving the elements and riding to work, and grab a free breakfast at a bike station on your way. CU will be hosting a breakfast station on the south side of the UMC. The Environmental Center will be handing out breakfast burritos, gluten-free vegan cookies, and some fun bike program swag. Since its inception in 2011, BCycle riders have traveled over 2.5 million miles. Now, Boulder BCycle is nearing 1 million total trips and is ready to celebrate! The person taking the millionth ride in the next couple weeks will win a great prize package of bike related swag (e.g., Pit Viper shades, Mountain Smith cooler, apparel, snacks). So get out and ride!

Operation Vicious Cycle Thwarts Massive Bike Theft Ring

With support from Bike Index, the company CU uses for registering bikes, authorities were able to indict eight individuals responsible for stealing nearly $1,000,000 worth of bikes. All the more reason to get your bike registered!
