Is there a plan to increase parking options to meet an increase in unfulfilled demand for more parking spaces?
  • Parking Services works with Campus Planning to suggest additional parking supply to meet the needs associated with any new buildings. Campus is currently completing the CU Boulder Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The TMP will advise the Campus Master Plan process which began in January 2020. We encourage students and the campus community to engage in these planning processes, helping by providing feedback on their campus access needs. Information on both can be found at
What are options for parking, if student commuter permits are sold out?
  • Add your name to a waitlist in the parking portal. You will be contacted by email if/when lot(s) become available.
  • Pay to park on campus for the time needed.
  • Carpool with someone that has a campus permit/split the cost.
  • Consider purchasing a Parking Services Off Peak permit.
  • Alternative transportation to campus.
  • Contact the City of Boulder about availability of a city parking permit.
What day is the Fall/Spring permit sale?
Why am I not able to purchase an online student permit?

Some reasons would be:

  • You are not registered for classes
  • Sale has not opened yet
  • It is not your correct sale date
  • Student permits are sold out
How can I purchase a temporary permit online?
  • Log into the parking portal with your IdentiKey to purchase a temporary permit. Daily permits are available for select lots and can be purchased up to eight days in advance. Please have the vehicle license plate number, make and color information available as that information will be associated with the permit.
When I arrive on campus, what do I do if my permitted lot is full and I can’t park in it? Do I have an "overflow lot"?
  • Please contact Parking Services Customer Service Specialists at 303-735-7275 and they will help you find an alternate parking lot and add a note in your permit account to avoid you from receiving a parking citation.
  • If your lot is closed due to an event or maintenance please follow your emailed instructions issued by Parking Services.

How do campus visitors purchase a football parking permit and where can visitors park?
  • Visitors may pre-purchase their football parking permit online. On game day you may be able to purchase parking in select areas (credit card only).
  • Advantages to purchasing the pre-sold permit include: parking in any “main campus” public event parking lot. Parking lots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guaranteed space in specific lots.
  • Parking on east campus (off Colorado Avenue & Discovery Drive) costs $15 (credit card only) on game day. There is a free shuttle to/from the Stadium beginning three hours prior to kick off and running until one hour after the game ends. East campus parking is not available for pre-purchase.
  • Campus parking is limited. Please arrive one hour before kickoff to ensure space availability.
  • Allow yourself extra travel time as traffic may be heavy.
How early does football parking open, prior to the game?
Where is ADA football parking located and is it free?
  • Parking for persons with disabilities is available in lot 204 (18th Street and Euclid Avenue.) A wheelchair-accessible shuttle transports ticket holders with disabilities between lot 204 and Folsom Stadium continuously for two hours before and for one hour after the game.
  • Pre-purchase main campus football parking for $25 online, or on game day purchase parking for $30 (credit card or cash.) Vehicles with a virtual CU Boulder parking permit and state ADA placard are valid to park in lot 204 without paying game day parking fees.

Is there free parking on campus?
  • Parking rules are in effect at all times. Review signage in lots for specific permit/payment requirements and hours. Be sure to read all signage, including any closure notification at the entrance of the lot where you plan to park.
  • All lots are subject to special event or maintenance arrangements. Follow the directions of event staff on roadways and in parking lots and maintenance and/or event emails issued by Parking Services.
