Jon D. Reuter MPVM, DVM, DACLAM works within the Research Innovation Office and has oversight of Research Integrity and Compliance at the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. He is actively involved in oversight of University affairs including the Office of Animal Resources, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Standing Committee on Research Misconduct, Institutional Review Board for human research studies, Conflict of Interest and Commitment, and DEA Controlled drug use.  He participates in many collaborative research investigations in the fields of neuroscience, integrative physiology, wildlife ecology, microbiome, and comparative medicine research.  Prior to joining the faculty at CU Boulder, Dr. Reuter served as Sr. Director of the Animal Resources Department, Sr. Staff Scientist, and Attending Veterinarian at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, LaJolla, CA. Dr. Reuter graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Veterinary Science. He then attended the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Master's in Preventative Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, he entered a Postdoctoral Residency Program in Laboratory Animal Science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  During the residency, his research interests were in the field of infectious disease with focus on nanomolecular countermeasures to potential bio-warfare agents such as anthrax and influenza. Early in his career, Dr. Reuter was recruited to Yale University Medical School, Section of Comparative Medicine where he led a successful infectious disease research laboratory and supported the Yale Animal Resources Center and IACUC.
