Fee waivers may be granted to applicants from groups severely underrepresented in STEM graduate education, as defined by the National Science Foundation. These groups include African Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, American Indians/Alaska Natives that hold tribal membership, and Pacific Islanders (native peoples of Hawaii, Guam and Samoa). Individuals with disabilities; i.e., physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds (examples: Pell Grant or WIC eligible, formerly in foster care, first-generation, etc.) are also considered. Do any of these apply to you?
