Andrew GrotzingerCU Psychology and Neuroscience Assistant Professor Andrew Grotzinger (Behavioral, Psychiatric and Statistical Genetics, also Clinical) was in the news, getting interviewed for articles in the Daily Camera as well as CU Boulder Today about some recently published research in the journal Nature Genetics. This research examined a publicly available genome database looking at the genes associated with 11 major psychiatric disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, bipoloar disorder, anxiety disorder, etc.) and discovered that the high comorbidity rate of some subsets of these diseases reflect an underlying genetic basis.
