Deadline for application: May 5th, 5 PM MDT

  • Open to any full time undergraduate beyond first term at CU Boulder.
    • Majoring in a field that overlaps with Quantum Sciences / Engineering (e.g., Physics, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Must be in good academic standing.

  • This is a one time payment for students fulfilling the criteria of the Scholars program.
  • This is a scholarship that is contingent upon remaining in good academic standing through spring of 2024.
  • Students must commit to engaging roughly twice per month in activities related to quantum sciences and engineering (with speakers from industry, national labs and academia; along with visits to local quantum labs and companies.). 
  • As part of joining this second cohort students get to set the tone for the future -- Students must commit to building an inclusive and mutually supportive community as well as to advancing this program.

Materials /questions you will be asked to submit:

  • Unofficial CU Transcript - Find out how to access transcripts at the Office of the Registrar Transcripts Page.
  • Resume (3pp max) - see resources and examples at the College of Engineering Career Services Page.
  • Answer the following 4 short essay (one paragraph (~250 word) max 300) prompts  
    • Q1: Why are you interested in quantum sciences/ engineering? 
    • Q2: How will this scholarship (funding, programming and community) benefit you? 
    • Q3: What are the next steps in your career plan? Are you thinking of going into industry, to grad school,  teaching, other?  Why? 
    • Optional : Clarify anything you would like to your application, e.g. anything interesting about yourself, your academic path, or academic record, etc.
  • Previous Quantum Scholars are encouraged to reapply. You will be given a separate set of quetions.
  • One academic reference, your relationship to them, and their contact email. (We do not need letters but please let them know we might contact them).
