Tobin Munsat received his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from Princeton University in 2001 and joined the CU faculty in 2004. His research background ranges from high-temperature fusion plasmas to industrial plasmas to space plasmas and cosmic dust, and he supervises the Colorado Dust Accelerator in the former Nuclear Physics Lab on campus. He is Deputy-PI of the Institute for Modeling Plasmas, Atmospheres, and Cosmic DusT (IMPACT) and vice chair of the Physics Department.
